A special meeting of council will be held tonight.
Called an e-town meeting, it will be like a normal meeting of council, except they will take questions from the public posted on the city’s facebook and twitter pages.
After receiving the latest draft of the 5-year financial plan, city council will discuss a massive expansion of the bylaw department, going from one to 3 1/2 employees including a Manager of Bylaw Services.
There is also a request for a $60,000 electric vehicle to be purchased for the new staff
The expansion will represent a $290,000 expenditure this year, and a further $240,000 next year.
The meeting starts at 6 tonight.
