A group of pickle ball players knows the value of having Automated External Defibrullators nearby, after one of their members died on the courts earlier this month.
Bob Cole who was playing pickle-ball at the Sproat Lake court, said a nearby AED along with some training brought their friend back to life.
Cole said the Sproat Lake Volunteer fire department offered to install an AED at the Sproat Lake Hall for the pickle ball group if a dozen members took the training.
He’s now an advocate for having more AEDs installed at school gyms and recreational areas throughout the valley.
Cole said one of the most important things is just to know where the AEDs are.
He said the un-named pickle ball player they saved had a pacemaker installed last Monday and is now at home with his family.
